Week 6
I continued to read the book Big Papi. I read for 3hr.

I continued to learn about the story of David Ortiz's life in the big leagues. He goes on to tell how getting big hit after big hit he kept his head on straight. I really admire his hard work and he shows that it pays off. He really is a great big role model.

Week 5
This week I continued to read the book Big Papi. I read for 3 hrs.

David Ortiz is a professional baseball player. MLB(major league baseball) players have a theme song that is played when they walk up to the plate. David Ortiz's song is "All I Do is Win",by DJ Khaled. I thought this would be a good theme song since the book is all about him. I learned more about his journey to the big leagues. He had a hard time getting injured often and being very underrated.

Week 4
This week I mainly read A-Rod: The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez, and have started Big Papi. This week I have read for 4hr 30min.

I am comparing reading to the time I play baseball. Over this rare week of no school I took four hours out of it to read. I am guessing I took up about 12 hours playing baseball. I started playing a lot this week due to baseball starting next week though. This week was the first time I've played in about a month. I would say on a regular basis it is probably a 2 to1 ratio of time I spend playing baseball to reading.

I continued reading my book about Alex Rodriguez. I went on  to learn how he has used steriods throughout his career. It tells about how he cheated against his team, the rules, and himself. It basically sums up how Alex's life went downhill throughout his career. I also started a book on David Ortiz, who is also a professional baseball player. He has started to tell of his early childhood in the Dominican Republic. I will contimue to read this book and hope to be done by next week to give more info on it.

Week 3

I have finished Dustin Pedroia: Born to Play, and am currently on A-Rod: The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez. This week I have read for 4 hours.

The last time I went to the library was to pick up books for Mr. Strusz's English class. I got three books while I was there and all three are related to baseball. When checking out I found out my card would soon expire, so the man at the checkout renewed it.

My current book tells the life of Alex Rodriguez. It has started off with his childhood. He had a very lonely childhood with his father leaving him at the age of six. He later grew up loving to play baseball. It goes on to tell the remarkable high school career of Alex. I am to the part of his life when he is drafted by the Seattle Mariners. For more on the book I'll post next week, for this is as far as I have gotten.

Week Two

I am reading Dustin Pedroia: Born To Play for the second week and read 5 hours.

The book was written by Dustin Pedroia, it is a biography. In this book he tells about how he was overlooked his whole life because of his size. He tells stories of baseball and all the great, and not so great, times he had playing the game. He loved showing people how his size didn't affect his play at all.

I love to play baseball. I am also very small. This book realated very well to my life. Dustin tells about how he had to work hard to overcome the adversity. He gives me reason to work hard because he shows even if you are smaller than others you can still do what you put your mind to. After reading this book I am confident I can work as hard as Dustin did and become a great baseball player.

First book

First week of reading I read Th1rteen R3asons Why by Jay Asher for 6 and 1/2 hrs.

This was Jay Asher's first book. The main character is named Clay Jensen. Clay's crush, Hannah Baker, committed suicide a couple days before the time you start reading. Hannah had made tapes before she killed herself telling thirteen people why she killed herself. If you were one of the thirteen, you were one of the reasons Hannah had killed herself. However our main character, Clay, just can't figure out why he's on the list? What had he ever done to Hannah? For more on this book ask Mr. Strusz, however there might be a waiting list. I enjoyed this book a lot and hope you will to.

I however would not suggest this book for someone who is contemplating suicide or is very unstable of their thoughts. This is just for your safety.
